[Intro] DKDB Nashville

Hello friends, it's your buddy Lou Pickney with you here with a DKDB update.

April 3rd, 2026.

Less than 3 weeks away now from night one of the 2026 NFL draft.

Right now is the right time.

If you haven't already, bookmark the DKDB my personally curated, expert curated 2026 NFL mock draft database.

I put the best of the best in the DKDB.

A draft version of a new mock draft that wasn't ready for today.

One part particular that I got hung up on that I'm going to wait.

Calling men's lacrosse games for Sewanee, Sewanee Tigers on Saturday and on Monday.

I was some time during those drives up there to that beautiful campus, my place here in the Nashville area, think it through a bit.

So, I'll explain some of that as far as what I'm thinking as far as the latest mock drafts.

A lot of new mock drafts out the last few days.

Sam Teets in there.

Sam does a great job with this.

Player profiles.

No AI, no filler, no tandem efforts, no gimmicks.

Just the best of the best, people with proven track records.

Comes to this whole mock draft, NFL draft prognostication business.

Major story broke late in the day.

My reaction to the report on Yahoo Sports about President Trump delivering new executive order attempt to regulate college sports.

Ross Dellenger, senior college football reporter for Yahoo Sports.

I have a link to this in the description section of this YouTube video.

So, I think it's noteworthy.

It's an executive order and the question is will any of this actually be enforceable?

More importantly, the fact that there are people spending a lot of money lobbying for this to happen.

This isn't President Trump deciding this of his own accord.

However, for a long time now, there are people with money that have been trying to influence him on this.

This isn't his first executive order as far as the one of these lines.

It's worth going over at least what's talked about in here cuz you can tell what the lobbyists are pushing for.

At least that's my interpretation of it.

Potentially causing problems for some of these schools if they don't abide by certain rules.

But, I think it's noteworthy to point it out.

It would limit transfers to one time only.

I'll go through all the details.

Be sure to go and read this if you want to learn more, but it's noteworthy.

It's giving power to the NCAA and the question is does an executive order really have the power to do that?

Will anything really change?

We'll see.

Notes here that many, including the president himself, expect the order to be challenged legally.

But, something to keep in mind that this isn't happening just out of nowhere.

They've been lobbying for this for a while.

Let's talk about a few prospects here that have been moving up or getting noticed or otherwise think are worthy of discussing.

First and foremost, he keeps coming up here, Spencer Fano, offensive tackle, Utah.

It's nice and aligned earlier than I pinched up on it.

There we go.

I'm hearing more and more talk about Spencer Fano to the Cleveland Browns at number six.

More than just one insider saying that.

I think nearly half the teams in that top 10 be likely to trade back if they get a decent offer to do so.

But, in a draft that's not exactly deep at quarterback, it seems like it'll be a question mark safer.

You hear a lot about Dallas maybe trading up.

I don't know.

There's a lot of smoke there.

The question though is how can Dallas do that?

Yes, they have two first rounders, but they don't have a second rounder this year.

I also wonder if people might value those 2027 first round picks a lot stronger than that next year's draft is typically valued.

Typically, if somebody's trading, they'll give you I'll take your fourth rounder today for my third rounder next year.

So, when it's this way, that doesn't work.

A lot of times it's teams on the hot seat that will do that.

They're not shy about trading away future stuff.

If it works, hey, it was a bold move that we had to do.

If it fails, somebody else has to clean up the mess.

But, Spencer Fano, there's the question of the arm length with him.

Is that going to be suitable for playing tackle in the NFL, particularly left tackle?

But, there's a lot of talk that the Browns like Fano.

They'd like maybe to trade back from six.

If Jeremiah Love is on the board and the teams believe that Washington Commanders are going to take Jeremiah Love if he's there.

There are a lot of people that are saying Tennessee Titans and Jeremiah Love.

I just keep going back to Adam Schefter.

You ever seen There was something odd about the whole thing other that he seemed very much sure about his reporting on it.

The belief being that Jeremiah Love would make it past not only the Titans at four, but also the Giants above him.

So, how does Fano play into that?

Well, if the Browns are at six, it's wise what to trade up.

Look at Jeremiah Love or somebody like I guess Sunny Styles is there.

Dallas has said they they like Caleb Downs.

So, Downs is there, maybe they just who knows.

It comes to the draft, there's a thousand and one rumors and whispers when it comes to trades.

Sometimes you got to believe it when you see it.

With Fano, there's definitely some interest there from Cleveland.

You've heard Monroe Freeling's name mentioned as well.

So, it's something to keep in mind with Fano.

He had the longer arm measurements at the pro day at Utah versus what they had at the combine.

We'll see if that plays out with Fano and Cleveland at six.

Remember, Cleveland's got the six and the 24 as far as first round selections in this year's draft.

Depends how enamored, if at all, the Browns are with those top tier wide receiver prospects.

I got a little bit of pushback as far as McKay Lincoln.

I noted recent DKDB update, maybe the most recent one, other than that, the thought had been that Lincoln maybe kind of fallen behind the perceived pecking order.

Parnell Tate from Ohio State and Jordan Addison from Arizona State.

Some whispers about maybe Lincoln didn't have the best interviews with everybody at the combine.

Yeah, I try to take that with a grain of salt.

These teams have done their due diligence.

But, from what I've seen from certain indicating indications that typically steer me right, Lincoln's right up there, if maybe even just a notch ahead of both Tate and Addison.

So, it's interesting.

Heard speculation that Miami might trade up from 11 trying to get a receiver, maybe Lincoln.

But again, who knows what's real and what's not right now.

Speculation keeps things interesting.

And there's been a lot of speculation when it comes to Kenyon Sadiq.

Let's scroll down on this as well.

There we go.

So, Sadiq, tight end, Oregon, had that tremendous showing at the combine.

Got away north of 240 lb, ran a 4.39 second 40-yard dash.

Ridiculous speed.

The whispers he could go top 10.

There's the obvious potential with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Some say, well, nine is too high to take Sadiq.

Others say, look, this guy's a unique ability with that level of speed.

Remember, the NFL loves ultra high-end speed.

Go with size especially.

And nobody can really run quite like Sadiq with that size.

Now, whether that's going to convert to being successful in the NFL, time will tell, but it typically does.

Got elite speed and size.

Now, there are mocks that have Sadiq sliding a bit.

The put relative positional value, how some might see Sadiq relative to some of the top other prospects in the draft.

Remember, the modern NFL the question is can you help a team's passing offense or passing defense?

If you make a tangible difference to that end, you're going to get a lot of attention.

And Sed would certainly do that for wherever he goes.

And that's kind of where I got caught up with Tampa Bay at 15.

I was going to put my mock draft together that's still not ready at my latest one.

I'll hold that over to early next week.

Thinking some things through.

You can overthink things, certainly, but it felt like the spot where Tampa Bay, all right.

I'm not sure if 15 is the spot where they would really take Calijah Kancey, edge rusher from Auburn.

And linebackers, I'm not sure beyond Arvell Reese, a linebacker *slash* edge, and or Sonny Styles, linebacker.

Started his career as a safety at Ohio State.

There's talk that Kansas City might think offensive tackle, particularly right offensive tackle, like Dawand Jones at 19.

But if they're gone, Sed is there.

Travis Kelce's in the twilight of his career.

Sed would be quite a weapon to add to that Chiefs offense.

Keep that in mind.

Also talking tight ends and okay, well, who else?

If there's another tight end to make it to that bottom part of the first round, who might it be?

It's like I scroll up.

They're scrolling all over the place, aren't they?

This man right here.

Eli Stowers, tight end band up.

Great athleticism, a lot of potential.

Was part of that Vanderbilt offense.

Vandy had a great 2025 season, one of the best seasons in school history.

Eli Stowers was a part of that.

I don't know if he'd actually go late first round, but if you're looking for a possible second tight end, if you think it isn't going to happen, who might it be?

I think the most likely of all the potential candidates would be Eli Stowers, tight end from Vanderbilt.

But that's it for this DKDB update.

I'm your host, Lou Pickney.

Thanks for watching.

Talk to you again soon.

Bye for now.
